Reiichiro Shiba is Chika's friend from middle school. While he was with Chika he was entertained, but after they started attending different high schools, he became so bored he committed suicide by jumping off a building. His birthday is June 9, his blood type is AB, he measures 6'0" and weights 147 pounds. His weapon as a zombie is a flying knife, later he uses a scythe after stealing Zarame's core.

He was 'revived' as a zombie by Carmella after being selected by the Wheel of Fate/Fortune organization for an experiment. Shiba then became the serial killer known as "Butterfly," a name he takes from the tattoo in the front of his right shoulder.

After facing the Z-Loan team, and refusing to attempt to rid himself of his black ring despite Chika's efforts to convince him to join Z-Loan, Shiba once again lets himself fall off a building. In mid air he encounters Zarame and disappears, supposedly reaped. It is later discovered that he actually reached out and took Zarame's core at that moment.

He joins ARRC claiming to want nothing, though Hakka says that is a lie and that Shiba wants "life from death and death from life." Carmella decides that his twisted contradictions are exactly what the group is looking for. It is shown that Hakka can stop Shiba with a single touch, despite his new powers.

Carmella is working for the Akashic Record Reform Committee (ARRC). They are trying to change the way the Wheel of Fortune/Fate Organization (WFO) works. She goes against fate most of the time, rather than a ally of fate, she challenges it.

She was the one who revived Shiba as a zombie, and was also shown doing business with Yoshizumi, warning him of his approaching death and giving him ideas as to how to avoid that fate. Though in the end he met his fate anyway and Carmella commented about how hard it is to escape fate.

She is not a human, though she isn't a zombie either. She doesn't appear to be a ferryman, but like the reaper she has a core that is the source of her power and reverts to a chibi state if that core is removed. However, she is not said to be a reaper either, though she is from the "other shore." She also has very good aim as proven when she throws one of Chitose's darts.

Chitose is a member of ARRC. He uses darts as a weapon. He comments on killing Carmella if she wastes five minutes of his time, but becomes defensive of her when Shiba cute her with his scythe, though she soon reveals the attack as ineffective. He seems to only have patience for of Hakka to be late. He dislikes humans, but puts that aside for Hakka.
