Zombie Loan Payment 6: Longing for Freedom

Shiba was revealed to be the Butterfly, just as Shito suspected. Michiru takes off her glasses and sees a ring round Shiba's neck, he is an illegal zombie. Shito tried to shoot at Shiba but Chika stopped him.

Shiba explains that when he was with Chika he wasn't bored but after they went their separate ways when they finished jr. high, Shiba became bored with life and committed suicide by jumping off a building. When he woke up he was told by Carmella the he has been chosen to become a zombie. Shiba believes he is finally free and doesn't realize he might be being used.

Shiba reveals his weapon to be a knife which he can materialize from ectoplasm like Shito and Chika. He attacks Chika, who still doesn't want to fight him. Shito tries to shoot Shiba again and makes him drop the knife but it comes back flying and stabs Shito's hand. Shiba can control the knife making it fly where ever he wants and using it to attack from a distance.

Shiba tried to kill Michiru but Chika materializes his sword and blocks the hit. Chika and Shiba start to fight and just as Shiba is about to stab Chika, Michiru shoots him with Shito's gun, since he still has not recovered from his previous injury.

Shiba tried to jump from the building but Chika holds his hand to prevent him from falling and tried to convince him to try to get rid of his zombie ring. Shiba refuses and falls. Zarame, the Grim Reaper, then reaps Shiba. After the battle is over Chika asks Shito to lend his back and leans on him. Shito says he's heavy and they exchange insults but it seems that their own way of being supportive.

Michiru, Shito and Chika return to the dorm and Chika is depressed but trying to hide it. He's feeling lonely and wants to sleep on the floor of Michiru's room but she refuses and so does Shito. Chika sneaks into Shito's room anyway and Shito is tempted to shoot him but changes his mind and doesn't kick him.

The next day Shito, Chika and Michiru donate money to the families of those who died involved in the Butterfly case. After Shito goes off on his own, Chika explains that he wants to go home but cants because he needs to stay near Shito so his hand won't rot off. Michiru asks about the benefits of being immortal as a zombie and Chika explains that his heart would start to harden if he stays a zombie and he won't be able to feel.
