Zombie Loan Payment 11: Life and Death
Chika, Michiru, Sotetsu, Yuuta, Otsu and Zarame are at Yoshizumi's hideout. Chika has found Shito. Instead of freeing Shito, Chika asks him to call him by his name (instead of last-name), then gives him a little speech about money and greed, and how he won't be reserved about it to buy his life back. To Shito's surprise, Chika switches hands with him and runs off, leaving Shito handcuffed to the bed.
Yuuta, Michiru, Sotetsu and Otsu have defeated the zombies guarding Yoshizumi's hideout and went inside. Zarame leads them to Shito and he and Michiru free him. Shito runs off saying he'll kill "that guy" (Chika). He also calls Michiru by her first name.
Shito passes out in the hallway since he has not recovered, but Yuuta heals him and the go search for Yoshizumi while Chika fights the chainsaw golem.
Nogi goes to Otsu in fear, claiming he didn't know he was doing anything wrong. Otsu tells him that no matter what road he takes, he chose it himself. Nogi explains that Yoshizumi is trying to create a powerful golem, Phalanx. Phalanx does not have a brain to control it yet.
The chainsaw golem is about to decapitate Chika, but Shito and Sotetsu attack it. Chika is throw out a hole in the wall and his sword gets stuck on the ledge preventing him from falling. Shito tried to help him up, but Chika refuses unless Shito calls him by his first name. Shito finally calls Chika by his name and gets him to climb up, though he shoots at him the second he's 'safe' because Shito doesn't like being 'dominated'.
The chainsaw golem "dies" and Nogi tells Otsu that golems cannot create protein and need a special acid injected into them or they become corpses again.
Yoshizumi fuses with Phalanx, a big green blob with many eyes and hands. Chika, Michiru and Sotetsu fight Phalanx, controlled by Yoshizumi, while Shito tries to free Golem-chan (the paink haired girl golem) who was also absorbed by Phalanx. Otsu joins the battle and uses an acid that the destroys cells which he obtained from Nogi. Now Phalanx is easy to defeat.
Elsewhere Carmella knows of Yoshizumi's fate and reflects that humans are not able to escape the ring. Her location is not clear but we see a dark atmosphere and long spiraling stairs.
Back at the abandoned hospital (Yoshizumi's hideout) The Z-Loan group is celebrating their victory and payments. Golem-chan wakes up in Shito's arms and he tells her he'll teach her to speak and the chairperson will help so she can go to school. Nogi sneaks up on them and shots Golem-chan on the head. Shito beats up Nogi until he's nearly dead, but doesn't kill him.
Zarame explains that though the girl was moving, she was a golem with no soul. Shito does not believe it and gives her a proper burial.
Back at the main Z-Loan office. The Ferryman receives a letter from Wheel of Fate, showing that there is a connection between WoF and the Ferrymen after all, though it is not explained. He untied his ponytail, takes off his glasses and changes into white and blue robes a crescent moon pendant saying that the ones in charge must be serious so he should be too.
The closing of this episode is different since it's the last one, but it leaves the story unfinished and the manga continued so there might be a second season in the future, I hope there is. The ending song plays while Shito, Chika, Michiru and Zarame who is still a chibi, visit Golem-chan's grave.
