When we first see interaction between them, Shito believes that Golem-chan is going to attack him with scissors. He struggles beneath her and much to his surprise she changes his bandages. He quickly figures out that she is the one who had cared for his wounds in the first place.
Still annoyed by the situation he mumbles about the sad/pathetic way she bandaged wounds.
Golem-chan cannot talk but seems to be very caring and somewhat misguided in her caring for Shito. She chokes him with water when she tries to give him a drink and is rather forceful with moldy bread as she tries to feed him.
Throughout episodes 9-11 the two become close. In some sense Shito can identify with the young girl who was created and has only lived in death. In the battle against Phalanx even his comrades note how much Shito seems to care for Golem-chan. They take to fighting and telling Shito to do what he needs too.
This is one of the first instances that Shito shows, that could be considered love. He is willing to go out of his way to care for this girl. After saving her from Phalanx he makes her promises. He will talk to the chair person to get her a room, she can be enrolled in school, and he will even teach her to talk. Shito, the whole time, is combing her hair with his most precious item.
Only Ohtsu knows that her body cannot sustain itself but before he has to break the news to anyone, tragedy befalls our pair. Golem-chan dies in Shito's arms.
Shito is met with heartbreak and asks to send Golem-chan. This is th eonly instance we see Shito mourn or grieve for the departed. She lived and that is what mattered to him.
Could this couple Work?: Personally, this is my (Snow's) OTP in Zombie Loan. I think this couple could very much work, had Golem-chan survived. Shito would have taken very good care of her. The only problem is, this relationship seemed doomed to fail if it went on for long term. Despite that, it does not change the fact that Goelm-chan opened Shito's heart and he felt something for her. She clearly liked him and wanted to take care of him too.
