Mythology: Ferryman, Fates and More

Snow is the mythology expect, but I (Mikari) will try to trace some similarities between Zombie Loan and the Greek mythology, and form some theories based on that. Only the 11 episodes of the original series are available right now, with an OVA and more manga still to come. These are theories but there are also spoilers in this page.

Ferryman:

Bekko has a higher position than Ferryman. This is just a guess, it could be that at the end of episode 11 all the ferryman are being called back and that is simply his formal attire, but he could be a ferryman and something else at the same time.

Fates:

Carmella is or works for the Fates. Another theory that is related to mythology. The name Wheel of Fate makes me think of the wheel used to spin thread. However Carmella seems to work towards changing destinies instead of making them follow a pattern which could be seen as the Fates trying to gain more control or it can be interpreted that the Wheel of Fate organization is working for the Fates and gains its name because it works against Fate trying to see how much it can be changed.

This leads to more theories. If Carmella works for the Fates, then shouldn't the Fates and Ferryman be working together? Carmella and Bekko obviously have different goals, then who is the one going against the rules of their world, if they are even linked to the same world. I have the impression that if anyone is breaking major rules it might be Carmella or rather the Wheel of Fate organization since they are the ones working with illegal zombies.

This makes me wonder about how the structure of the Wheel of Fate organization works and whatever organization Bekko works for which is most likely based on mythology. It looks as if the main story is a series of smaller occurrences happening simultaneously with or caused by, a series of "bigger" events related to the Ferrymen and Fate.

Pandora and Yu-Gi-Oh!

Yu-Gi-Oh isn't exactly mythology but is does include some Egyptian mythology so I'm including my theory here. We all know Kuze, the chairperson is the keeper of the key, but what exactly does that mean? What does that key open? First I am reminded of the soul rooms from Yu-Gi-Oh! A room existing in one's soul reflecting the true self. When helping Pochi Kuze mentions that his door is rusted and hard to open, to my interpretation this mean that Pochi has been in his wolf form for so long he doesn't remember his true self, but Kuze helps him find it.

My second theory about the chairperson is related to Pandora. I don't think she's Pandora, otherwise she would go around opening soul rooms just to see what's in them, and that might be a bit dangerous. When I think about that key she keeps I wonder if it only opens soul rooms. For all we know Pandora's box could be sealed away somewhere with a lock and Kuze was given the key for safekeeping. Hey, if they keep adding mythology tot he series it could happen.
