The Future of Zombie Loan: So Many Possibilities!

Here's a list of Mikari's theories. Some are closer to the realm of possibilities than other. Some have been hinted at, other are speculation, and others are just for amusement. As of episode 11 none of this has been confirmed. Beware of Spoilers.

Shiba:

Shiba stole Zarame's core and is coming back for revenge. This is something that has been hinted with pictures of Shiba in later manga volumes that have not yet been released in English. He appears holding a scythe, the change in weapon might have been a result of carrying a shinigami's core since a scythe is their classic weapon.

Bekko and Shito:

Bekko switched Chika and Shito's hands on purpose. Sure he said it was a mistake but considering Shito's past and his origins, Bekko could have been trying to find an excuse to keep Shito in Japan and make him works towards his revival.

The question is, can Shito be revived? He was born dead as it is explained near the end of the series when he mentions that if a corpse gets pregnant it gives birth to a corpse, which means his mother must have been a zombie when she had him. If Shito is revived along with Chika, Toho would lose his "perfect monster" since I don't think the mafia would have much use for Shito as a normal living being. If that's the case Bekko could be trying to free Shito while pretending it was only a mistake.

Michiru:

Michiru is a shinigami and doesn't know it. She could be trapped in a mortal body and the seal was nearly undone when she came close to dying at the beginning of the series, her neck even marked by a black ring. We never see what Bekko does to revive her, but we know it's different from being a zombie.

Another possibility could be that Michiru is the descendant of a shinigami. Maybe got her shinigami blood from a grandparent and one of her parents also secretly has shinigami eyes. That parent saw their lives would end and arranged things with the inheritance so that Michiru would not be homeless when they died. Maybe the parents Michiru grew up with are adoptive parents and she doesn't know this, but one of her parents is a shinigami.

This reminds me of the girl at the newspaper and magazine selling booth who brought chibi Zarame before the group when they were searching for Shito. Obviously she was no ordinary human, if at all human. Maybe Michiru and that girl are in similar situations.

The girl who knows Zarame:

She is the one who brings Zarame to the Z-Loan group after his core is stolen and they are searching for Shito. We don't know a lot about that girl, but she can understand Zarame and is surprised when she realizes that Michiru can also understand him. In theory it's possible that she can also see the black rings, maybe she's even some kind of shinigami in training, or Zarame's half human little sister since their hair color is similar. She doesn't appear to be a major character right now so I wonder if we'll ever get an answer about her.
