Final Fantasy VII
We've found a lot of twins in Zombie Loan and Final Fantasy VII. The two worlds are similar in many ways. We'll keep a list here, if you find other similarities, post them in the comments, we'll credit you if we add them.
Square Enix: This is the easiest similarity, they're both linked to the same company.
Crime organizations: ARRC and the Turks, they both wear business-like uniforms, though the Turks were darker colors, navy and black and the ARRC members, save for Shiba wear light cream colored suits. Both organizations are trying to gain control from the shadows.
Presidents: We have president Hakka who controls ARRC as well as the ferrymen while he pretends to be the good guy. It was the President Shinra who ordered the plate to be dropped in Sector Seven and blamed Avalanche for it. Both presidents claim to protect their respective organizations while moving in the shadows with a different type of organization.
Modified fighters: Z-Loan, A-Loan and Shinra all operate with the aid of a modified battle force, mako enhanced in Shinra's case and zombies for Z-Loan and A-Loan.
River and stream: The ferrymen of mythology must guides souls through the river of death and in Final Fantasy VII they end up in the life stream. The ferrymen and other non-human people are said to be from the "other shore" and in FFVII the life stream is like another plane of existence in some ways.
Stubborn survival: Both stories present the topic of characters who just won't stay dead. Though Shiba committed suicide, but returned as a zombie and instead of being reaped he stole Zarame's core and gained the powers of a reaper. Sephiroth was defeated by Cloud during the Nibelheim mako reactor incident and thought to have died, however he later returns stronger than before to find his mother and unleash Meteor.
Lost friends: Though Chika was never quite as emo as Cloud and is most of the time as cheerful as Reno, both stories include the theme of a main character becoming depressed after the death of a friend. Shiba and Aeris are completely different, but their similarity is that neither is truly gone. Aeris exists in the life stream able to communicate with the living world and Shiba returned to walk in the world of the living, even if he's not alive.
Yu-Gi-Oh!
We all know Kuse, the chairperson, is the keeper of the key, but what exactly does that mean? I am reminded of the soul rooms from Yu-Gi-Oh! A room existing in one's soul reflecting the true self. When helping Lyca (Pochi), Kuse mentions that his door is rusted and hard to open, to my interpretation this mean that Lyca has been in his werewolf form for so long he doesn't remember his true self, but Kuse helps him find it.
Kingdom Hearts
Sea salt ice-cream is a well known frozen treat in the Kingdom Hearts world. Roxas eats it with Axel and Xion in the clock tower of Twilight Town, then with Hayner, Pence and Olette in the digital copy of the same place. It's just in this picture, but I (Mikari) can't help it but to wonder if Chika is a fan of sea salt ice-cream too.
